Jamul is a census-designated place in San Diego County, California. According to the United States Census Bureau, the Jamul census-designated place has a total area of 16.8 square miles. 16.6 square miles of it is land and 0.3 square miles of it is water.
The 2010 United States Census reported that Jamul had a population of 6,163. There were 1,974 housing units at an average density of 117.3 per square mile, of which 1,692 were owner-occupied, and 214 were occupied by renters. The homeowner vacancy rate was 0.9%; the rental vacancy rate was 2.7%. 5,404 people lived in owner-occupied housing units and 701 people lived in rental housing units.
